Equipping people to serve.

“Fishing with Jesus” is an invitation to join Jesus in reaching people and bringing others into the work of ministry. We bring churches, organizations, and individuals together to develop ministries that support recovery, reentry, and changed lives.

Our focus is building relationships, equipping local leaders, and helping communities put faith into action.

Our purpose and direction

Our mission

Fishing with Jesus equips churches, organizations, and individuals to develop Christ-centered ministries that connect recovery inside prison with practical support after release, strengthen Celebrate Recovery, and prepare leaders to serve people seeking transformation through Jesus Christ.

Our vision

We envision communities where churches, organizations, and individuals work together so that people affected by addiction and incarceration can find lasting recovery, a welcoming community, opportunities to serve, and a transformed life in Jesus Christ.

How the mission takes shape

Equip the community.
Support the journey.

Reentry ministry

Help churches and organizations assess local needs, develop practical support, prepare volunteers, and form partnerships that welcome people home after incarceration.

Celebrate Recovery

Strengthen connections between Celebrate Recovery Inside and community Celebrate Recovery, so recovery relationships can continue after release.

Transformation & leadership

Encourage people to grow in faith, recovery, and responsibility, and prepare leaders who can serve others through sustainable Christ-centered ministries.

A connected pathway

From recovery inside
to community outside.

A person may begin recovery through Celebrate Recovery Inside. A prepared church and recovery community can help carry that support forward after release through mentoring, appropriate housing connections, practical assistance, and opportunities to belong.

We also seek to develop pathways for interested seminary-trained Field Ministers to prepare for recovery and reentry leadership after release, with support for their own transition and supervised experience.

These are developing ministry plans. Partnerships, services, and leadership roles will be established with the participating organizations.
